The Stork System of Savings 5c Note
The Stork System of Savings Percentage Scrip, 5 cent note issued by the Cheyenne Creamery Co. and redeemable at the Stock Growers National Bank, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 1912.
These were apparently issued upon two separate occasions, the first in 1910-1912, when they were lithographed and had ornate green backs, and the second, in about 1917, when they were more crudely printed, and had black backs.
The Mitchell-Shafer Catalog of Depression Scrip lists both issues, but only as issued from one location, Gilett's Drug Store, in Hoquiam, Washington. The 1910-1912 issue is listed as the WA151 Series. All the then-known pieces were from a single bank hoard.
All the Stork Scrip listed here are from Wyoming, a state where almost all depression scrip is scarce to rare.
There is some damage to the lower left corner; red overprint ink has transferred from another note during printing; grade: Fine+.
Price: 85.00 + shipping.
